Passion Play Better than Ever

The 2006 season is underway!  The Great Passion Play is back and better than ever with a dedicated cast and some new animals to grace the stage.  New to the Passion Play this year are two cross back donkeys-one with a very curly coat and an ornery little male with plenty of personality.

The New Holy Land Tour is fast becoming Eureka Springs’ favorite day-time attraction.  “Not only is the tour interesting and inspirational but it is educational too.  The actors and actresses bring the 35-plus exhibits to life and give new understanding to the scriptures.  The tram drivers are friendly and fun and will make your tour memorable,” Mardell Bland, a spokesperson for the Passion Play said.

“The Museum of Earth History is more informative and interactive than ever before,” Bland stated.  “The Museum’s creator, Dr. Thomas Sharp of the Creation Truth Foundation, has narrated the tour and you can enjoy the museum at your own pace while listening to the expert’s explanations of the exhibits.  The debate over Creationism/Evolution rages, and visitors can see a literal Biblical explanation of creation from a scientific viewpoint at the museum.”

New this year is a wonderful exhibit in the Sacred Arts Center by celebrated artist, Harry Antis.  The collection, entitled “A Man from Nazareth named Jesus,” is, in the words of the artist, a series of 12 paintings on “the life, the death, and the purpose of the incredible Galilean man named Jesus.”

“The Great Passion Play is very excited to display these paintings along with other masterpieces in the Sacred Arts Center,” Bland Stated.

The Bible Museum continues to fascinate people with its rare and priceless volumes.  At the popular exhibit persons can trace the history of the English translation of the Holy Bible.  There are also more than 625 foreign language Bibles displayed.

“We are starting to look ahead to the 400th anniversary of the 1611 King James Bible,” Bland noted.  “We would like to share with you the difference between the 1611 ‘He’ Bible and the 1611 ‘She’ Bible.”

The 40th anniversary of the dedication of the Christ of the Ozarks Statue will be celebrated on June 24th.  The public is encouraged to celebrate the occasion.  The statue of Christ in the Northern Hemisphere and was the first project completed at The Great Passion Play.
